Wiring the first module

Started wiring up the first module. Using Tortoise switchmachines with Barrett Hill control system. (www.touchtoggle.com) I'm going to use the Woodland Scenics light system, which you can see in the lower right. All  the connections are solidered with heat shrink tubing over the joints. I've got spade connectors on the ends that go to the terminal strip. I'm using zip ties and tie pads from Lowe's to help keep everything need and tidy.

The turnout controller is on the center cross piece along the upper edge.

Painting track

I've got the track done on one module and am painting the rails and ties. The white rectangle near the Tamiya bottle is the base for the engine house. I'll be gluing down a wood floor once the rail is painted. I'm using Model Masters burnt umber and brown. Once it's dry, I'll go over it with some AK washes and powders.
